Ravens Sign Four Year Contract Extension With Mark Andrews

In a deal rumored to be worth around $56 million, American Football team the Baltimore Ravens have recently agreed a four-year contract extension with tight end Mark Andrews, who celebrated his 26th birthday on the same day as signing the deal.

Seasonal Salary

Mark Andrews is one of the highest earning tight ends in the league, being paid $14 million per season. He’s behind top earner George Kittle ($15 million per season) and Travis Kelce ($14.3 million per season). Andrews will receive a guaranteed $37.6 million – which represents 63% of the deal, according to a source – and can expect to receive a pay-out of $26.6 million by March 2022.

Mark Andrews – Key Facts

Mark Andrews was born September 6th 1995. Before joining the Baltimore Ravens in 2018 he played college football at Oklahoma. During his time with Oklahoma he moved to play in the tight end position, having previously played as a wide receiver.

The year 2014 saw Andrews as a redshirt and the following year he played in all thirteen of the team’s games (with one start in 2015); in 2017, he received the John Mackey Award.

When Andrews ended his time at Oklahoma to join the Ravens, he left as the receiver with the sixth most touch-down receptions and the tight end with the most receiving yards.

In his time playing for the Ravens, Andrews held the 2019 record for most touchdown receptions by a tight end for that season, and prior to that, in 2018 he achieved the most reception yards by a tight end during his rookie season.

The same year also saw him delight fans – including long-time supporter Brandon Glickstein – by gaining the accolade of longest regular reception season by a tight end, which stood at 74 yards.

Andrews has Type 1 diabetes and is a spokesperson for those living with diabetes, regularly meeting and speaking with young people about ways to cope with and manage this condition.

The Future

Mark Andrews has joined fellow Ravens Ronnie Stanley and Marlon Humphrey in signing a multi-million dollar extension over the past year, and it is highly likely that he will be be offered a long-term deal with the team.
